The Good News is that the Bad News was all wrong!

Celebration of Faith presents Rev Gary Wilson, a licensed minister, teacher, author lecturer, from an MCC background. Take a fresh look the topic of Homosexuality and the Bible. Come out and hear Gary. He has severed as a MCC Minister for 30 years and is involved in teaching, support groups, organizing workshops, conferences and a variety of other outreaches. Gary became aware of the fact that God loves gay people and that the teaching he was involved with was not in accordance with scripture. It was at this time he felt a special calling to work with the Gay and Lesbian Community.

In a day and time when people are dying of AIDS, and are in need of love and compassion, many churches have entangled themselves in a web of legalism and bondage. Rather than helping people discover the Savior, they are alienating people and pushing them further away. The Church (i.e., followers of Christ here on Earth) was never called to be the judge of the world. The Church has been given the ministry of reconciliation back to God.

The Bible is the GOOD NEWS, and it is alive and active in the lives of gay and lesbian people. Tradition does not bring freedom, but rather bondage and legalism. We know that God loves all people -- not just some "good" people to the exclusion of all others. God is reaching out to everyone! God loves the gay and lesbian person.
